Walking to work today was like walking through a slushy machine that went haywire and exploded all around.
Amidst the deep puddles of water were piles of a yellowy, snow-like substance.
Avoiding plows became the necessary recourse if one intended to stay dry.

My life has become a pathetic fallacy. For the time being at least.
I spend the days just trying to make it through dry.
Most days I succeed, but every so often I step in a puddle and get my socks wet.

I wish there was an umbrella for life.

and with it late nights of Vision editing, testimony sorting and hopefully, some shoveling.

I haven’t been a good blogger this year. I do not pretend to think that the world cares what I am doing. Nor have I felt a need to document much.

The Notable things of the year:
- I learned to Rappel
- I shot a gun
- I now have a full size bed!
- I turned a quarter of a century
- I spent 4 weeks on the East Coast!
- I started watching Doctor Who
- I watched all of Northern Exposure
- I started making myself run
- I finally read The Chronicles of Narnia series
- I finally finished all Jane Austen
- We started Thursday dinners

and life goes on…

That said, this will probably come across like complaining. I honestly don’t mean it to be.

I recently heard a sermon about singleness in the modern church. The speaker noted that singles in the church are, in essence, foreigners in Christian culture.
Tonight a dinner conversation involved someone classifying me as a “Single Adult”, and it made me feel like an outsider.
I lashed back. Excuse me, but I don’t think that I am, or should be, defined by my marital status.
I simply don’t understand what it has to do with who I am.
Should I not be defined first and foremost by my God?
Christian culture would seem to say single people are only half people.
I’m a whole person, trust me.

Granted, this post is probably a bit reactionary and is definitely not complete.
Bear with me. Rawr.
